Project Brief
SXSW Sydney represents a living intersection, a convergence of ideas, disciplines, and cultures. Building on the festival’s legacy in music, film, and creative industries, SXSW Sydney has evolved into a global platform where technology, business, and art converge in real time. This project aims to translate that spirit of convergence into a cohesive visual and motion system.
The design scope includes both large-format landscape applications for the main stage and vertical formats for posters and digital platforms. Key deliverables include the opening sequence, speaker cards, backplate, and social media post, designed as part of a flexible, modular system that adapts seamlessly across scales while maintaining a unified visual identity.

Concept
This conference isn’t just about imagining the future. It’s about building it now. Across its diverse tracks, SXSW Sydney invites thinkers, makers, and dreamers from every field to step beyond the familiar, to explore ideas that challenge boundaries, and to discover new possibilities through unexpected connections.
This visual direction draws inspiration from data flow and abstract signal art, where each signal represents an individual participant or idea. These signals interact, overlap, and flow together, symbolizing connection and convergence. While rooted in the language of technology, the design avoids a cold or sterile aesthetic. Instead, it embraces vivid colors and dynamic motion to capture the energy, creativity, and vibrant spirit of the conference.
